Hello Briar Hill Families

 School Council

Thank you to the many families that were able to participate in the noon hour School Council Meeting April 17. It was an important time for the school and families to come together to have conversations about Briar Hill School. The next council date and time will be shared in the April 27 update to parents.

There were many topics discussed during School Council, one of them was how Briar Hill is supporting students with Conflict, Rude, Mean, & Bullying behaviour (see image below). I have had the privilege of visiting all Gr. 4-6 classes, discussing these terms with the plan of visiting K-3 in the coming weeks. It is not only important for kids to accurately identify behaviour, they need to be equipped with the tools when faced with this behaviour. These conversations will continue on till the end of the school year.

Transportation Services & Bell Time Adjustments

For the 2025-26 school year, the CBE is expanding yellow bus service and adjusting walk zones to meet amended Alberta Education transportation regulations. Changes to bus routes affect bell times, which are aligned across schools for efficiency. These adjustments ensure a reliable transportation service, so students arrive safely, on time and ready to learn. Learn more here Transportation Service and Bell Times Adjustments

Briar Hill School Bus

If you are a family that lives out of the boundary and are eligible for bussing, please have a look at the CBE 1st Ride opportunity below.
