Briar Hill Families

"We prepare the child for the road. We don't prepare the road for the child." - Dr.Brandi Klepper -

As we enter the final months of the school year, our teachers continue to support students in living our Briar Hill values: Curious, Caring, Connected, Resilient. They inspire curiosity through exploration, model caring through kindness, foster connections within our school community, and nurture resilience by guiding students through challenges and celebrating their efforts. As students prepare to transition to the next grade, we work together with families to help each child grow not only academically, but as thoughtful, capable, and confident learners ready for what comes next.

📝 BHS Registration
K–6 registration is on going for new families living in the Briar Hill School area as well as those from outside our designated boundaries.

For families outside our area, thank you for your patience! We are finalizing central system processes and awaiting Director approval, expected in the coming weeks.

Once confirmed, 2026–27 Kindergarten families will receive:
Kindergarten Orientation (May 6th, 6–7 p.m.): Learn about our school philosophy, beliefs, and approach to teaching and learning—while supporting a smooth transition for students and families.
Welcome to Kindergarten (June 10th): An opportunity for incoming Kindergarten students to visit the classroom and experience a brief glimpse of what Kindergarten will be like, helping them feel comfortable and confident as they transition into the 2026–27 school year.

🎭 Celebrating Student Performances
At Briar Hill School, we value providing students with meaningful opportunities to perform and share their musical talents. These experiences help build confidence, creativity, and a strong sense of community.

While this year’s timeline has been a little different, we are excited to offer several upcoming opportunities for students to showcase their learning:

  • Kindergarten & Grade 3/4: Performing at the Volunteer Tea (May 6)
  • Grade 1/2 Spring Performance: May 20 at 6:15 p.m.
  • Grade 5/6: Performing as part of the Grade 6 Farewell

We look forward to celebrating our students and sharing these special moments with families.

🕺 Dance Residency Celebration!

Last week, our school was buzzing with energy as students took part in a DJD (Decidedly Jazz Danceworks) residency. From Kindergarten to Grade 6, students explored movement, rhythm, and creativity while building confidence and having fun.

The week wrapped up with students performing for one another on Friday—a joyful celebration of their learning and a wonderful showcase of the arts in our school. See more HERE.

Interested in continuing the experience? DJD offers spring and summer classes and camps: https://www.decidedlyjazz.com/
