Briar Hill School Families

December is a wonderfully busy time of year, both at home and at school. While routines outside of school may be changing, learning at Briar Hill remains steady and purposeful as we approach the holiday season. With excitement building and schedules becoming fuller, our focus continues to be on supporting students through consistent routines, clear expectations, and predictable daily structures. These elements are especially important in helping children regulate their energy, emotions, and behaviours during this high-energy time of year.

As part of this ongoing work as a learning community, I had the privilege of meeting with our Grades 3–6 students last week and will be visiting our Grades 1–2 classrooms early next week to review the Student Code of Conduct, Digital Citizenship Contract, and the Briar Hill School Values and Conflict Table. Families are asked to keep an eye out for these important documents, which will be placed at the front of your child’s agenda. These resources help ensure a shared understanding and reinforce the expectations that guide our learning community each day.

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support during this busy and joyful time of year.

With gratitude,
Nathan deBoer
