Hello Briar Hill Familles

We are in the home stretch as we welcome the start of June this week. In school settings, things never seem to 'wind-down' at the end of the year, they always 'wind-up' with year-end business and excitement! Over the next four weeks, Briar Hill teachers are committed to keeping our time together focused on learning. Finishing final projects and assessments, reviewing previously taught concepts, and transition planning, all while finding moments to reflect and celebrate with our students about what an amazing year it has been.

If you have a moment, please reach out to a Briar Hill staff member and share with them how they have impacted you or your child's year.

Learning Commons Update

• We are looking to update our learning commons to better meet the needs of Briar Hill School students.
• To date we have completed Staff Survey, Student Survey, and I have met with a student advisory panel.
• Next Steps will be to host a Connect Day: LC Design Challenge, visit a few schools that have exemplary Learning Commons, and then create a data story with all the information we have gathered.

Stampede Breakfast

• All Briar Hill School Families are encouraged to attend the Briar Hill School Stampede Breakfast!
• June 10 from 8:45am - 10am

2025-26 Kindergarten

• June 3 from 5:30-6:30pm we are hosting a Welcome To Kindergarten for all our new kindergarten families. This will be a 'drop-in' format allowing new families to see the space and ask questions.
• We are wanting to increase our Kindergarten numbers. If you know someone that is looking for a strong Kindergarten program to help their young one on the right path please have them contact the school at BriarHill@cbe.ab.ca

Spring Concert

Tree Stumps

• We are looking for a collection (10-15) larger tree stumps for the mulched areas of the Briar Hill field
• Fairy gardens, outdoor kitchens, and bug mansions are often being created, and additional surface area would help foster this play
