As another school year comes to a close, I've found myself thinking less about events and accomplishments and more about relationships. Schools are built on learning, but they are sustained by trust. Trust is built through small, everyday moments of showing up, listening, and caring. Relationships move at the speed of trust, and trust takes time.
This year at Briar Hill has been a year of new beginnings, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside our students, staff, and families. Together, our school values—Curious, Caring, Connected, and Resilient—have helped shape the welcoming, caring culture we continue to build.
Thank you for the trust you place in our school and for being such an important part of the Briar Hill community. I wish you and your family a summer filled with rest, joy, and time together. I look forward to continuing our journey together and welcoming everyone back in the fall.

🤝 School Council Update
A heartfelt thank you and farewell to Matt DiNardo for his leadership and dedication as School Council President this year. Your support of Briar Hill and our school community has been truly appreciated, and we are grateful for the time, care, and energy you have given in this role.
We are also excited to welcome Alessandra Robertson as our new School Council President. Thank you for stepping into this role—we look forward to working together in the year ahead.

📅 2026–27 School Calendar
For the 2026–27 school year, instructional hours will remain the same, with learning beginning at 8:40 a.m. and dismissal at 3:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Fridays.

- August 26th – Briar Hill School office opens
- August 31st – First Day of School
Please note, parents and guardians will receive a welcome email from your child’s next year’s teacher in late August, when the school re-opens. This welcome email will contain important information about the first day of school procedures and helpful information.
