Hello Briar Hill Families 

We know that June is exciting, and it can be stressful for staff and students alike. There are many calendar events scheduled for the final weeks of school, including field trips, concerts, and a community Stampede Breakfast. We hope that you can embrace the days ahead as we dive headlong into June next week.  Here are your updates for the week ahead:

STAMPEDE BREAKFAST

• All Briar Hill families are invited to join us on June 10, 8:45-9:45am outside on the compound for our 1st Annual STAMPEDE BREAKFAST!
• Students will start their day in their class at regular time, attendance will be taken, and then each class will come outside to join families for the breakfast.

Old Buildings & Upkeep

• Mrs. William's class has temporary moved down the hall into the music room as their classroom is receiving new flooring (subfloor & linoleum).
• Music will be held in the Gym (where the Gr.1-3s were practicing for the Spring Concert anyways)
• The project is estimated to last 4-5 days

Gr. 1-3 Spring Concert

*When should I be there?

• The shows are at 1:30 and 6:00. Students are asked to arrive at the school at 5:45pm and head to their homeroom classes. School doors will remain locked until this time. Students can be picked up from their homeroom teacher at the end of the performance.
• Students are asked to be at both performances as concerts are a team activity. Some students have special roles and lines to say in the show - it is especially important to let me know if you will not be at either of the performances as I will need to reassign these lines. My email is sabachert@cbe.ab.ca The performance is approximately half an hour long - you will be home in time to enjoy most of the hockey game!

*What should I wear?

• The show is about a group of students who are taking part in a soccer game. If your child has a soccer (or any other sport) jersey they are encouraged to wear it for the shows. If you don’t have a jersey then wear something that they would wear to a sports practice.

• A School messenger was sent to all of our Gr.1 families from the school nurse regarding Gr.1 vaccines. Please contact the school nurse if you have any questions.
