  • With the uncertainty that comes with labour action, CBE has asked each school to cancel all On-Site and Off-Site activity.
  • For Briar Hill this means the following activities have been impacted:
    • Ms Retallack's Open Minds Experience, Oct 21-24 ---------------> rescheduled for December 8-12
    • Healthy Hunger (Oct 16) & Pizza Lunch (Oct 30) have been cancelled
    • Halloween Howler Event Cancelled ---------------> School Council is planning a November Community Event
    • K-6 Canadian Geographic Education gym floor map Oct 14-17. ---------------> New dates TBD.
    • Gr.1-2 Museum Kit. ---------------> New dates TBD
    • Photo Retakes Oct 24 ---------------> Rescheduled for November

  • Teachers will not have access to schools, email, Google Classroom/D2L accounts during labour action

  • Largest & most impactful fundraiser for Briar Hill School. Some of the impact of our previous casino was:

    • Literacy Books & Supports
    • Online academic subscription for student & teacher use
    • Dance & Green Fools Residency
    • Outdoor Portable Speakers
    • ChromeBooks & Digital Cart
    • Gaga Ball Pits, Soccer Nets, PE Storage & Equipment
  • Volunteer Sign-Up link coming soon!

HIVE Awards

  • Monthly teachers will put forward names of students who where exemplary in one of the four Briar Hill Values: Curious, Caring, Connect, Resilience
  • These students will be honoured & celebrated for their actions & attitude

Family Support Sessions

  • To support families, CBE has partnered with Recovery Alberta & Community Education Services to provide information sessions for families
  • These sessions will still run during labour action
