Briar Hill Meet The Teacher & Welcome Back BBQ

• The Briar School Council is excited to invite you to our BBQ Picnic on Thursday, September 25 from 4:30- 6:00 PM, during the Meet the Teacher Open House. (Classrooms will be open 4:30-5:30pm, teacher dinner & mingle 5:30-6pm)

• Please Join us! School Council is a great chance to find out what is happening at Briar Hill and be involved in your child’s school. The school council will meet after the BBQ at 6:15pm in the Learning Commons. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Picture Day Sept 24

• Come look your best for picture day. Both class and Individual pictures will be taken on this day.
• Retakes are scheduled for October 24

Terry Fox Update

• Thank you to the many families that showed up to cheer on the Briar Hill students as they participated in the Terry Fox run last Tuesday. This year Briarhill has raised approximately $920. Thank you very much for supporting the Terry Fox foundation.

Connect Day

• Last Friday, September 19, K-6 students participated in K-6 Connect Day. Students focussed on the four Briar Hill Values: Curious, Caring, Connect, Resilience. We started our time together with a Read-A-Loud of the donated book Howdy, I'm Singh Hari, an early Calgary Pioneer and the great grandfather of one of our students. Students identified where they saw the 4 values in the story and then created definitions and examples of each value.
